Special Needs Care in Maple

| Hi, my name is Ana. I am a 21 year old girl from Portugal but living in Vaughan for the summer. I go to Bishop's University and I am studying Psychology, hoping to graduate in just 2 years. I've been babysitting since I was 14. I did babysitting for professors, and my parents friends. Those jobs required me taking care of a 1 year old baby, and a 6 year old child, as well as cooking, cleaning and walking the dog. I also did my high school volunteer placement at the primary school where I cared for many toddlers, did crafts changed diapers, etc. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. | Ever since I was a child in elementary school, I found passion and great interest in helping others and working with children younger than myself, such as doing reading buddies programs at school. I started babysitting from a young age, went on to become a camp counsellor for several years, a tutor and then decided to pursue teachers college. I started working with individuals with special needs when I was in high school and this continued in university and afterwards when I was employed at a private school working with a child with autism in 2013. Since then, I have worked with many other children with special needs in school settings and for private families. Every individual is unique and this is no exception for individuals with special needs. Each person deserves to be treated with dignity, respect and care and I endeavour to work by these values with anyone I work with and hope to make a positive difference.

I have a brother with severe CP, bedridden, multiple disabilities and totally dependent. I am greatly involved in his care.

| I want to get the opportunity to administer compassionate care to all those who are placed in my care, and demonstrate a positive attitude, a sense of responsibility. I worked at a school where I taught special needs students from age 6 to 18 (photographs can be shown) it has been my passion. I have a Diploma in caregiving. I have excellent communication skills with persons at all levels, both orally and in writing. I can work well under pressure.

| My name is Faith. A graduate and am international student studying Infant and Early life mental health. Am a mother of 1. Aside being a mother I have a lot of experience working with infants and toddlers and aged people and people with special needs. I took care of my grandmother for over 3 years who was diabetic and hypertensive and I also spent over two years babysitting a 4-year-old girl on the autism spectrum. I truly love working with people in need, and I approach each person as an individual who I get to help grow, teach and help make life easy.

| My name is Alessandra and I have 6+ years of experience in the fields of social services, mental health & academia. I have worked with children, youth and adults to support their varying complex needs including mental health support, rehabilitation and mentorship. I love what I do and look forward to getting to know you! Fun fact: I adopted a pup (chocolate lab) last year & am loving my first year of being a 'dog-mom'!
