Special Needs Care in Caledon Village

| Hello, My name is Riley, I am a proud part of the LGBTQ community and a devoted care professional that has been working with children of all ages for over six years. As a firm advocate of inclusivity, I am keen to work with a family that appreciates diversity and supports the LGBTQ community. Passionate about childcare, I became a COBRA Swim Club instructor and worked in other roles like Integration Instructor at City of Brampton Summer Camps, Waterfront Director at a disability-focused overnight camp, and also at a family shelter's childcare department. Currently, I hold a standard first aid and CPR certification for children, youth, and adults, coupled with a lifeguarding qualification. This diverse experience has honed my ability to handle multiple childcare responsibilities, from basic tasks such as bathing and dressing children, helping with homework, laundry, meal preparations, and light housekeeping, to more specialized tasks such as caring for children with disabilities. I am looking forward to the possibility of working with a family that values my skills, experiences, and the inclusive perspective I bring.

| I have work as of domestic violence counsellor for 55 years as well as sentiment counsellor for past three years also worked in the healthcare clinics as off manager for five years. I also ran my own daycare in the past locked after 10 children.

| With approximately six years of experience in the field, as well as personal experience living and working alongside my cousin with special needs, I have worked in various settings throughout my career. I have spent time as a Live-in assistant in a L'Arche group home, assisting women with developmental disabilities and ASD. I have worked in various group home settings, school settings, and home settings providing behavior support, as well as life-skills support to individuals. Currently, I work as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) providing mental health support to individuals struggling with burnout, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and life transitions. I recently graduated with a Masters's degree in spiritual care and psychotherapy. I would like to continue providing in-home care support to individuals with developmental disabilities, ASD, and emotional support to the families of the individuals I support. I would also like to combine my education and experience to ensure quality support for the individuals and families in my care I believe in the importance of providing not only quality care to your loved ones, but coming alongside you in the emotional highs and lows that come with caregiving.
