| Hi, I’m available for weekends only. I started my working life as a community support worker, providing care to adults with disabilities in both residential and day service settings. During this time I received a Para-Educator certificate (teachers assistant) from Red River College. Several family members including my nephew are diagnosed with autism. Having witnessed how important proper supports are, I’ve dedicated my time to understanding autism and how to best support people on the spectrum, including multiple certifications in Positive Behavior Supports. I moved to BC and got a certificate in Customized Employment from Douglas College, then ran a Customized Employment program for people with disabilities. Through this time I maintained CPR and first aid certification. I’m currently certified CPR level C. After moving back to Manitoba I made a career change but have missed being a carer. | Hi! My name is Jessica and I am 29 years old. I spent 2 years working in childcare and my last job was a position as a Support Facilitator at the YMCA of Oakville. I worked one on one with a young child with autism working on communication skills, social skills, creating visual cues, and modifying the before and after school program to promote inclusion for all children in our programs. I have 2.5 years of experience with adults with developmental disabilities and/or mental illness in day program/group home settings. A couple of those years were in an employment services position where I facilitated a series of employment skills workshops to people with mental illness and brain injuries who were working toward full rehabilitation. I enjoy working with people and enjoy planning fun activities.

| Hello, I have been working s a support worker for 4 years now. I have worked with a lot of people with developmental disabilities, autism, schizophrenia and cerebral palsy. Currently I am also studying Psychology in University of Manitoba

| I am a highly energetic 29 year old, with strong communication skills. 2 years experience working as an educational assistant with students with exceptional needs such as students on the autism spectrum, learning disabilities, non verbal, Down syndrome, ADHD, and epilepsy. It brings me so much joy to watch the students I have worked with progress, and learn new skills such as basic cooking as well as working on school lesson plans. I have formed strong bonds with these student and have learned ways to accommodate their varying individual needs. Prior to my EA experience I worked in long term care, providing daily care such as bathing, dressing, feeding, exercises and other daily needs. I am a highly compassionate person and thrive to give the best care possible.

| I have experience as I have 2 siblings with non verbal autism. I’ve spent most of my life caring for them. Cooking, cleaning and keeping them entertained. I’m very responsible and respond well to the needs of others. I think in my life I was put on this earth to help children and adults with intellectual disabilities!
