Companion could also provide guidance with goal setting, recreation and leisure pursuits, and community integration. Client is very kind, personable, enjoys music, watching sports, chatting, bowling, and movies. Pay to be negotiated with family. The position is available October 2024. Looking for someone to support her in the community with volunteering at an animal shelter or similar and to encourage participation in various recreational activities. Work with my daughter on managing her anxiety and frustrations when "un-expected" situations come up. Work with her on creating and implementing engaging activities that would be of interest to her.

Part-time personal assistant for an autistic individual who will attend university in September

We are a family located in Mississauga seeking a dedicated and compassionate person to assist a non-speaking autistic young adult who will be attending university. The ideal candidate will have a strong mathematical background and a passion for helping others succeed. This position requires meeting with the family and getting to know the student over the next few months before the term starts in September. The support person will work closely with the student to support his communication and provide academic support as needed. This is NOT a tutoring position. Mandatory Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in pure mathematics, applied mathematics, physics, computer science or equivalent knowledge - Availability of about 20 hours per week. - Ability to commit to meeting with the family and student regularly over the next few months. - Willingness to undergo training to become proficient in the communication with the individual. - Ability to attend university lessons with the student (the ideal candidate has a valid driver's licence and reliable transportation). Optional Requirements: - Prior experience working with neurodivergent people. - Familiarity with the university environment and academic expectations. - Strong interpersonal skills. My 6 year's old daughter will be starting summer camp on July 8th. We are looking to find someone who can accompany her to camp and ensure she has a great time. This is to help her navigate camp activities, ensures she's having fun with others and stays safe. She is potty trained but may need help or support in new environment. We do not want to leave her by herself at summer camp especially since camp may have young kids as volunteers hence we require adequate attention on her. She is a sweet child, she was non verbal but has some speeches now with the help of speech therapy. She is preverbal and would help nudging her on request and navigating different activities. Also helping her regulate when she is tired or would not join activities. We just need someone to keep an eye on her and ensures she is safe , not hurt and she is having fun.
