Would like to hire a compassionate and patient caregiver, who speaks Filipino/Tagalog fluently to care for my adult brother with developmental disabilities and epilepsy. Responsibilities: - Able to communicate effectively with mentally disabled client in Filipino - Provide in-home care to client based on individual needs and care plans - Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and eating - Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature - Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary - Prepare Filipino meals and assist with feeding - Provide companionship and engage in meaningful activities with client - Maintain a clean and safe environment for disabled client - Able to follow instructions specific to client's needs - Able to keep the client's environment clean and save, including bathroom, bedroom, living room, kitchen and living room Qualifications: - Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred - Knowledge of nurse or nursing assistant duties is a plus - Experience with EPILEPTIC SEIZURES is highly desirable - Ability to provide compassionate and patient-centered care to individuals with mental disability - Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with client, his families, and other healthcare professionals - Ability to follow care plans and maintain accurate documentation of care provided - Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and client needs - Must be reliable, trustworthy, and able to maintain confidentiality - Must be able to communicate in Filipino/Tagalog - Must be able to refrain from using cell phone while caring for the disabled client Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
