We're seeking a reliable, patient, and engaging individual to support our 7th-grade son during homeschooling hours. This role blends academic supervision, mentorship, and light caregiving. The ideal candidate is comfortable with pre-teen boys, keeping them on task, assisting with schoolwork, and making learning enjoyable. Responsibilities: Guide him through an established homeschool curriculum. Keep him focused, assist as needed, and ensure work is completed. Help with lunch and encourage movement breaks (basketball, chess, etc.). Provide companionship and a structured learning environment. Transport him to an after-school program at 3 p.m. Qualifications: Experience with middle school-aged kids (teaching, tutoring, coaching, etc.). Patient, responsible, and engaging. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

We have a middle schooler who is struggling with homework due to writing hang ups. He has ADHD so keeping him organized and on track is a struggle. We are looking for some one to come over once or twice a week after 6 p.m. and help him figure out what he needs to work on and sit with him and walk him through some of his assignments. This must be in person. Person must be willing to deal with challenging behavior such intentionally miss interpreting any poorly worded sentences. Must be willing to incorporate games as incentives.

Newport News family needs a part-time special needs caregiver

Aloha, We have 2 kids (7 and 11 years old) and a small electronic piano at home. They both have had about 1 year of basic piano training from about a year ago (we recently moved, we are new science professors at UH). We are hoping to have a teacher come one afternoon or evening a week (time is pretty flexible) and work through basic piano lessons with them. We are assuming ~$50/hr with a 1/2 hour lesson for each kid. We also have a next door neighbor (7 years old) that might join in for a 3rd lesson if the timing works (so ~$75 for 3 kids).
