About Taylor

Hi there! I am a current kindergarten teacher in San Diego Unified School District. I have been a teacher for 8 years and I have a passion for creating an environment where students become lifelong learners. I especially love working with students in reading and writing! I use strategies that align with the science of reading, which has a heavy focus on phonics and includes evidence supporting phonological and phonemic awareness, phonics and word recognition, fluency, vocabulary, content knowledge development, and comprehension. I look forward to meeting you and your learner! I'd describe my personality as outgoing, understanding, and patient. I like tutoring because I believe a one on one approach to learning is the ideal space for students to grow and thrive. In my spare time, I like to surf, read, go on walks and try new foods. My skills include reading, writing, phonics.
