About Sharlene

I love teaching! I have taught grades K-6 for 18 years. I have the skills to teach L2 learners and children with special needs. I have a Reading & Literacy Authorization and a teaching credential. I am enthusiastic about helping students develop skills and gain confidence. My personality is friendly, positive, and caring. My objectives are to motivate my students, target learning gaps, and increase reading, writing, and math skills. I help shape my students into goal-setting, life-long learners who can think critically. I'm a dedicated instructor and like to make learning engaging and enjoyable. I have done after-school tutoring. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked one-on-one and in small groups to help kids with learning gaps and to strengthen skills. In my free time, I'm usually with my husband and dogs. I enjoy long walks, reading, swimming, and working in the garden.
