About Mikayla

I like tutoring because I am passionate about education and giving students a safe space to make mistakes, learn, grow, and achieve their goals. I also enjoy having the opportunity to help lighten the load for parents who are doing their best to ensure their child is set up for success. I experienced tutoring for the first time when I was a senior in high school taking a teacher track course. We tutored kindergarten and first grade students in math. Since then, I have been in the classroom learning to become a teacher, or being one. However, I miss the one on one experience that comes with being a tutor. In my spare time, I like to read, write poetry, hang out with friends, work out, and try new food places around Houston. One thing you should know about me is that, though I am a very joyous person who takes great pride and enjoyment in their work, I take my career very seriously. I believe every child deserves to have educators who will listen and advocate for them.
