About Melissa

I am a veteran English Language Arts teacher--of 25 years--who loves what she does! I have taught all grades from 6-12 and I have two teenage children of my own that I taught their entire lives! Lol. I am very passionate about helping students love reading and writing, especially if it's been a struggle or "not loved" in the past. I'd describe my personality as loving, encouraging, and fun. I like tutoring because I can make a real difference in the life of a young reader/writer and their family. I started tutoring when I was in college. In my spare time, I like to do ALL the things with my daughter and son. One thing you should know about me is I have your child's best interest in my heart and I am very confident teacher. My skills include a lot of patience, reading, and writing.
