About Matthew

I like tutoring because teaching and helping others learn was something I found I had a passion for in college. So I've decided to return to the passion of teaching and helping others learn that I found in college. My teaching style is based on breaking questions down into small, bite sized parts and working through them one step at a time. With each step I want to ensure that the student knows why we do each step, not just how to do it. I'd describe my personality as easygoing, fun, and adventurous. In my spare time, I like to play board games with my friends and family, exercise, and find ways to be active in my church community. One thing you should know about me is that I don't just want students to be able to repeat answers on tests, I want them to truly understand the material. My skills include strong analytical skills, a patient heart, and an understanding that math is hard and everyone needs their own approach to learning it.
