About Margaret

I am a PhD graduate student in biomedical science with a masters in neuroscience. I have a lot of volunteer tutoring experience with underserved students in a variety of subjects. I also have experience in middle school science classrooms designing and running interactive experiments. Informally during Covid I was a primary teacher to my niece (6yo). I find helping children to unlock their potential incredibly rewarding. As a student with undiagnosed dyslexia until college there were several subjects I struggled with in my early education. Throughout my graduate education I have done research on teaching and tutoring methods that work for myself and younger students I have worked with. I would describe myself as very positive and patient. I work with each student to help them find a method of communication and learning that works for them, whether that is diagramming a problem, teaching it back to me, flash cards, ect. I am confident in my ability to help all kinds of learners.
