About Lorena

I love helping kids find confidence in their skills. With 22 years exp in public education, home hospital and home school environments, I'm well versed in curriculum and learning methods from Kindergarten to middle school, and bring patience and understanding to the table. My desire is to help students improve their skill set. I'd describe my personality as a good listener, friendly and positive. I like tutoring because I love helping them master new skills to problem solve. I'm looking to work with kids in 1st-8th. I began as an intervention teacher 11 yrs ago. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, walking, cooking and reading. I also enjoy playing board games with my grandsons. One thing you should know about me is I am passionate about building relationships with my students to gain trust and help them build their confidence and skills. My skills include patience, encouragement and most importantly, being able to offer multiple ways to understand or express a concept.
