I see it as an honor to work with seniors rich in years and life experience. I find it rewarding to contribute to their daily comfort and well-being. I enjoy helping elders maintain their independence and "age in place" in their homes with personalized care and companionship appropriate to their own individual health and wellness needs. I have cared for elder individuals with various health conditions including: dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, diabetes, and various mobility limitations/needing a walker &/or wheelchair. I have also provided dignified and quality end-of-life hospice care for individuals, including my mother, with cancer & other health complications. I regularly do grocery shopping for elder clients, prepare nutritious meals, help offer/oversee meals/diets bc of my background in nutrition, child care, & public health. I am trained as a sociologist and public health professional; I have done research, teaching, and editing in a range of social science topics.
