About April

I'd describe my personality as calm, empathetic, and patient. I like tutoring because it allows me to stay connected to the teaching side of education. I have been in Special Education administration the last 4 years and tutoring has provided me with an outlet to still do what I love most, which is teaching. I enjoy working with families that recognize the value of collaboration to ensure their child has the best experience. I appreciate good communication and flexibility. I started tutoring when I was still in my education program in college. I have been tutoring on the side in some capacity for over 25 years. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my three boys, spend time with friends and family, take road trips, and read. One thing you should know about me is that I am passionate about ensuring that every child has access to a quality education. My skills include differentiating, scaffolding, and breaking assignments down into manageable "chunks".
