About who needs care: My father has a fractured pelvis and needs some daily help with light housekeeping tasks and on days when he wants a shower it would be nice to have someone there in the house just in case he needs assistance. We are expecting his injury recovery to last 2 to 4 months. He needs help making it easier for him to execute tasks (like moving around the coffee maker so he can make it himself as an example). Ideally, we would love to have someone for 2 hours a day or 3 hours every couple days to assist him. He likes woodworking and gardening but it will be a while until he gets back to those kinds of things. He does walk well with a walker and can dress, toilet and make simple meals (my sister cooks for him). We thought maybe early evening hours, 5 to 7 or 6 to 8 would enable someone to help him make a more solid dinner and get squared away for bed, but we're open to other ideas! He was fully independent before this and needs a very positive person to encourage him to get back to that point as he is able. He thrives with an upbeat, caring person who isn't afraid to make suggestions for things he can do.
About the care needs: A positive, upbeat, motivational person will benefit him. He's very with it mentally and he's a very kind, hardworking man. This has been a setback that has him a bit down. No special skills needed... just bring the good vibes!
Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
