Move, sing and dance with Teacher Jane on Mondays and Teacher Jamaica on Wednesdays at Lafayette Park. Our Baby Music Classes for infants and young toddlers provide an opportunity for parents and/or caregivers to sing and dance with their little ones to build and strengthen connections. Music supports and nurtures all areas of child development: Social-emotional, Cognitive, Language and Literacy, as well as both areas of physical development, fine and gross motor development. During these classes, we’ll sing traditional songs and learn many new ones, often using fun visual props to help support language development and symbolic thinking.  Most of our staff has extensive background in Early Childhood Education, intentionally exposing children to a rich variety of language, beats, and sounds while remaining developmentally appropriate. Our programs offer a joyful and rewarding experience for both adults and children, providing a great occasion for babies to interact with other babies and parents to meet other parents. This session, we will focus on fun on the Arctic, Dinosaurs, and the Enchanted Garden! This is a 6 week session for Monday classes, and 8 week session for Tuesday-Friday classes. Little Folkies is a multi-award winning early childhood folk music program for parents and kids ages 0-5. Little Folkies Family music class welcomes babies, toddlers and preschoolers along with their parents, grandparents and caregivers to come together every week to sing together like one big family band! There is never a dull moment in this class, with the teacher leading the students through fun and engaging finger play activities, hand movements, fun lap songs, call and response singing and hands-on jamming with shakers and wooden kids instruments. Other than the necessities for your child, we only ask that you bring an enthusiasm for music and a readiness to sing and clap along! We'll bring the songs, instruments, movements, and sounds for a fun-filled music class!
