Calling all young artists to join Art Club! Art club is many things...It's a creative space bursting with the supplies and materials artists use to make beautiful art. It's a learning place teaching skills in drawing, painting, sculpting, collage, clay and more! It's a nurturing community encouraging friendships and camaraderie as we create art together. Welcome to Art Club! We're excited to watch each member grow in artistic skill and creative confidence while having a TON of fun! In this class we will: -Draw -Paint -Collage -Use modeling clay -and learn real techniques that artists use! All tools and materials included.

Whether you're just starting out or a more seasoned potter, we welcome you to our evening Adult Pottery Sessions. We'll teach the basics of wheel throwing, trimming, and glazing as you create a variety of pieces you'll be proud to show off. The cost of the class includes 25 lbs of clay, tools, glaze, and firing of work made during class time. Additional clay can be purchased at the studio with cash. Open Studio time is included with your registration.

This week, we'll be making 3D art projects that might include dioramas, model magic, felting, string art, found objects, recycled materials, and more! Note: Creations in Sculpture is offered twice during the summer. Does your child love to paint? If so, this is a great program to practice and learn new skills. Your artist will practice using a variety of paint media including, watercolor, tempera, acrylic paint, inks and more. We’ll focus on techniques such as color mixing, value, resist, and texture on a variety of surfaces all while creating a gallery of art. Note: Painting Adventures is offered twice during the summer. The techniques may overlap, but the projects are different in each session - so feel free to register for one week or both for double the fun! This week will be a mix of our favorite projects from our popular "Sewing Stuffies and Fiber Arts" class, and more! We'll be working with fabrics, thread, yarn, and dyes. Note: Fabulous Fiber Arts is offered twice during the summer. Does your child love books and storytelling? This week, we'll be using children's stories to inspire our artwork. With a different book each day, kids will create art that explores the connection between books, storytelling, and art. As they unleash their imagination and create their own unique interpretations and artwork, projects might include a mix of drawing, painting, sculpture, and more! Students will learn the basics of throwing on the wheel including centering and opening to create bowls, cups and plates as well as how to trim and glaze their pieces before the final firing. All students will have their own wheel for the entirety of the class period.

This class is for students who have taken prior wheel working classes, at Studio on the Common or elsewhere. Students will be encouraged to take on projects that expand their skills while exploring individual creativity in clay. Projects may include working with larger pieces, more complex forms, creating sets, and experimenting with surface design. All students will have their own wheel for the entirety of the class period.

This course is designed for intermediate potters who want to level up their skills by creating advanced forms including goblets, platters, serving bowls, and pitchers. Each class, we will demonstrate a new form and surface design techniques. Pre-requisites for this course are that you have taken at least one Adult Pottery on the Wheel class at Studio on the Common or a similar course elsewhere OR you can confidently center 3 to 5 lbs of clay on the wheel and pull a cylinder form from it. If you don't meet those prerequisites, we are still offering multiple beginner courses at Studio on the Common for you to learn and practice the basics of wheel throwing, trimming, and glazing. Open Studio time is included with your registration. Additional clay can be purchased at the studio.

This course is designed for intermediate potters who want to level up their skills by creating advanced forms including multi-part vessels like teapots, plates, cake plates, lidded vessels, and larger vases. Each class, we will demonstrate a new form and surface design techniques. Pre-requisites for this course are that you have taken at least one Adult Pottery on the Wheel class at Studio on the Common or a similar course elsewhere OR you can confidently center 3 to 5 lbs of clay on the wheel and pull a cylinder form from it. If you don't meet those prerequisites, we are still offering multiple beginner courses at Studio on the Common for you to learn and practice the basics of wheel throwing, trimming, and glazing. Open Studio time is included with your registration. Additional clay can be purchased at the studio.
