Projects change each week making it easy for campers to attend multiple weeks of camp without repeating projects, but further exploring the range and depth of mediums. We ensure a good balance between 2D and 3D projects, so whether your young artists prefers to build things and be hands on, paint, draw, or print things they'll be more than pleased! Our camps are not only fun, but an opportunity for young artists to explore art mediums that they typically do not get in school, education in art terminology and art history (including current artists). We break up the week by hosting camp in different locations. This session students will explore four different types of medium. Each project will take two class periods to complete, and we will be focusing on terminology and technique as well as a little bit of art history. Students will have a blast exploring the mediums while they improve their hand-eye coordination, problem solving skills, and confidence in their mark-making. Our 6:1 student:teacher ratio provides an incredible opportunity for students to maximize individual attention within a small group setting. Each of our 4 school year sessions provide new and different projects to allow students to continue learning and building on their foundations of creating.

Students will not only learn different hand-building techniques such as coiling, pinch pots, slab work, carving, and sculptural embellishments, but also how to glaze with both underglazes and medium fire glazes. Artist's who have taken this course with us will be able to continue building on their skills and knowledge. The class is 1 hour once per week for 8 weeks. The registration fee includes use of tools and supplies. Please note that we are unable to offer make-up classes, nor a pro-rate for future missed classes.

In this 8 class session artists will learn about the full ceramic process from creating their own ceramic pieces, the firing process, as well as glazing. Artist's who have taken this course with us will be able to continue building on their skills and knowledge.
