This class is designed for kindergarten through 2nd grade aged children to help them learn and develop fine motor skills through creating art! Your child will practice using scissors, holding a pencil and paint brush, and much more through drawing, painting, and sculpting. Students produce a variety of projects with various mediums and subjects in order to learn different techniques and skills in creating art. This class is a fusion of traditional art projects and social team-building games; we will be learning how to draw and sketch quickly as we act out characters in a narrative, while also creating maps, portraits, and inventory sheets to fully design and flesh out a character of our own. This class will help you learn how to build worlds, create characters, and work with others on a personal and group basis. Winter Semester (January-Mid March) Glass Fusing is an exciting art were you take various consistencies of glass and fuse them together to make jewelry, vases, plates, coasters or just beautiful décor treasures. Students will explore glass cutting and uses of the types of materials available. Through the step by step guidance by fused glass experts Marty and Brittney. This dad and daughter team helps students will learn to make a variety of different glass pieces. There will be opportunity for many creative choices as students are given tips and techniques that will provide the knowledge needed to make some exciting pieces.
