Students are encouraged to develop their own style and ideas while working on specific projects selected to teach important art skills. Students work in a variety of mediums including oil, watercolor and acrylic. This class is a small group which allows for development in the areas each individual artist needs. In this class your child will refine their fine motor skills as they learn to draw, paint, and sculpt, while also learning a little art history. RESERVATIONS MUST BE MADE AT LEAST 3 HOURS IN ADVANCE (this class will not be visible after that time) as materials must be prepared in advance. There is a $5 fee if you do not cancel your reservation at least 1 hour in advance and do not attend class. Thank you for your understanding. Focusing on process over product, children will get to express themselves while using various art mediums and themes. Classes include story time with a snack. Do you want to learn how to create a large scale painting ( up to 30”x40”) with drama of beautiful strategic texture? With the guidance of professional artist, Anita Robbins, you will create an original, textured, work of art. This workshop runs for 4 weeks every Wednesday in January. This is a mixed medium painting workshop. During this workshop you will learn how acrylic and texture create a number of archival techniques for a quality substrate. Anita will teach textural techniques that will help create a 3-D feel to your artwork and will also cover principles of design in composing and organizing texture and colors to make a successful painting. Students will explore glass cutting and uses of the types of materials available. Through the step by step guidance by fused glass experts Marty and Brittney.
