The MOCHA Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program gives 6th-8th graders the opportunity to develop their art, customer service, and work experience skills in a supportive, creative museum environment. The CIT program is a 1 week program consisting of camp training, work development skills, and art for the summer. CIT hours are M-F (Depending on Camp schedule) 9:00am-3:30pm. If CIT requires care after camp, they will transition to the aftercare program (3:30pm-5:30pm) at an additional fee of $25 per day. Role & Responsibilities CITs build leadership skills and train as MOCHA Art Camp Counselors. Each CIT will work with staff to prepare and support the Teaching Artist in the class and during all outside activities. Are you a history buff? If so, this camp is for you. You do not need to have taken History 1 to participate in this week; all you need is a love of all things historical. Come with us as we learn about the fort built to protect the San Francisco Bay during the Civil War. Watch the engines that pull all of the cable cars up and down the steep hills around San Francisco. See the Immigration Station where thousands of people first set foot into the United States in the early 1900’s. Climb into the USS Pampanito and the SS Jeremiah OBrien to see two amazing WW2 ship museums. History 2 week at UAC offers campers a variety of opportunities to experience history like never before.

The Bay Area is full of fantastic art museums that are just waiting to inspire our campers. From impressionism to modernism to cubism, we will visit it all. Campers will see photographs, paintings, drawings, and even some sculpture. Days will be filled exploring art museums, strolling by outdoor murals and creating our own art, of course. Each camper will receive a sketchbook to work in during the week and stops will be made en route to complete exciting and engaging art projects.
