Winter Semester (January-Mid March) This class is for students wanting to work on creating their own unique artwork with any medium. The instructor will guide students through the process and help each student individually with what they want to achieve or learn in the class. This class takes a look at what makes a cartoon an "anime," different methods, techniques, and all the formal elements you need to create your own anime art and characters. This pass is for Winter 2025 Jan 6-Mar 15th .This studio time is meant for an artist the opportunity to focus on their art and take a number of classes. By buying the pass you can attend as many adult classes as you desire (except the glass class which has to be purchased separately). You can attend during that semester as long as there is still room. You must choose which classes so that you spot is assured and if you miss a class three times your spot will be lost in that class. Do you want to learn how to create a large scale painting ( up to 30”x40”) with drama of beautiful strategic texture? With the guidance of professional artist, Anita Robbins, you will create an original, textured, work of art. This workshop runs for 4 weeks every Wednesday in January. This is a mixed medium painting workshop. During this workshop you will learn how acrylic and texture create a number of archival techniques for a quality substrate. Anita will teach textural techniques that will help create a 3-D feel to your artwork and will also cover principles of design in composing and organizing texture and colors to make a successful painting. Winter Semester (January-Mid March) "Expressive Impressionism" takes the core techniques of Impressionism but adds a stronger emphasis on conveying emotion and personal interpretation through more dynamic brushwork, and exaggerated color. This course explores Impressionist themes, techniques, and various impressionistic artists. Students choose their own subjects and mediums while implementing the lessons learned in class. The instructor is an expert in chalk pastel, oil, acrylic, or watercolor. Supplies are available for use but it is encouraged for students to bring their own in order to continue working in their own studio between classes. We can provide a recommended supply list for the medium of choice if needed. Various techniques will be demonstrated to help guide students to their project goals. Perspective can make or break an art piece! Come learn some tips and tricks on creating perspective with Art House artist and instructor Brittney Brown. This workshop runs for 3 weeks from 10am-12pm on Wednesdays starting January 15. Each week we will focus on a different kind of perspective starting with one point, then two point, and finish with multiple perspectives in one drawing. We will be working in graphite pencil which is the easiest medium to practice and learn perspective, though once you learn how you can apply your new understanding of perspective to any art piece and medium!
