Ages 7-9. THIS WEEK: In this week's class we’re celebrating earth day while we learn about the american pop artist Keith Haring. Haring used his graffiti inspired art to spread awareness for various social causes and believed art should be accessible to all. Similarly, this beautiful planet we call home is meant to be shared in harmony with all its inhabitants, and what better way to spread this holiday's message than with art? Students will reproduce Haring’s expressive yet simplistic style with color blocking, exercising control as they learn useful application techniques. With a strong focus on shape and design, their strokes will transform into a message of gratitude and shared wealth for our beloved earth.

This two-hour class offers a perfect mix of creativity and art education. Students work on a monthly project following curriculum, building their skill and technique each week at their own pace. This class encourages monthly attendance.

The Process Art class at The Atelier School of Art is a one-hour session for ages 3-5, designed to encourage creativity, exploration, and sensory engagement. If you or your artist would like to submit an art piece to be shown in this year's art show, please register here. Once we receive your registration, we will send you follow-up information on how to choose your piece, giving your artwork a name, framing or thinking through how the art should be displayed. Please note that we do require that 2D pieces on paper or canvas are framed, and we will explain framing in the follow-up information. This thoughtful combination is designed to expand and stimulate our youngest student’s minds in a fun, art-rich environment. NOTE: We will follow the Winchester Public School Calendar. There will be no Messy Mushy Preschool Art on days when Winchester Public Schools are closed or on half-days. While your child is welcome to register for Messy Mushy on multiple days of the week, please note our curriculum is designed to repeat the same set of projects in each class. We offer after school pick up from Neighborhood Coop Nursery School at 12pm for students attending the half day NCNS program.
