Winter Semester (January-Mid March) This class is recommended for ages 10+ who have a basic knowledge of drawing and anime. Digital Art Supplies REQUIRED. iPad with Apple Pencil preferred. Class is taught using the program Procreate for Apple iPad, which is strongly recommended. Other programs may suffice, but we cannot promise a 1:1 comparison of lessons for any other programs used. Experience in procreate preferred but not required. We will study what makes a cartoon "anime," different methods, techniques, and all the formal elements you need to create your own anime art and characters. Students will explore the unique wildlife, extreme environments, and rich history of human exploration in both the Arctic and Antarctic. Through guided lessons and creative projects, we’ll transform scientific observation into expressive artwork. Art Lessons perfect for ages 4-8 years. 1-hour class We will use a variety of media, including watercolor, acrylic & tempera paints, oil pastels, mixed media, and clay for our beginner classes. Dress for a mess! We use acrylic paints and sometimes they are difficult to remove from clothes!

Let's have some fun on a no school day! Grab some friends and spend the morning making some amazing art projects with us. In this class, we will focus on snowy owls, as we make an owl painting to hang on the wall and an adorable little baby owl we can sit on a shelf. In between crafts, we will take time out for a story and snack, so be sure to pack something yummy and NUT-FREE!

Acrylic Landscapes: It may be cold and grey outside, but we can always find an escape through art! This project invites students to travel the world as they explore acrylic landscapes of their dream vacation destination. This weekly 2-hour class is a great option for kids looking to move ahead with their artistic talents. Students can choose to come on Tuesdays, or Thursdays, or both! Whatever works best for your schedule. The students are given more independence and freedom to be creative with the projects, and they have more autonomy in how their projects go. Projects often run for 3-4 weeks to give students the extra time to create a really impressive piece. Recommended for ages 10-16.
