This session students will explore four different types of medium. Each project will take two class periods to complete, and we will be focusing on terminology and technique as well as a little bit of art history. Students will have a blast exploring the mediums while they improve their hand-eye coordination, problem solving skills, and confidence in their mark-making. Our 6:1 student:teacher ratio provides an incredible opportunity for students to maximize individual attention within a small group setting. Rebel Art Summer Camps are full of exploration, creative excitement, and and just plain fun! Each week we offer a variety of different media projects (acrylic painting, watercolor, plaster sculpture, mixed media, collage, printmaking, and more!). Projects change each week making it easy for campers to attend multiple weeks of camp without repeating projects, but further exploring the range and depth of mediums. We ensure a good balance between 2D and 3D projects, so whether your young artists prefers to build things and be hands on, paint, draw, or print things they'll be more than pleased! Our camps are not only fun, but an opportunity for young artists to explore art mediums that they typically do not get in school, education in art terminology and art history (including current artists). We break up the week by hosting camp in different locations. Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays are hosted at the studio at 1444 South Main st., Tuesdays we meet at Civic Park (1375 Civic Dr, Walnut Creek), and Thursdays we meet at Heather Farms (301 N San Carlos Dr, Walnut Creek,). This unique opportunity is only offered during summer camps and is incredibly special as it allows campers to experience working in plein air (from life outside) as well as in the studio for a complete art experience. Please note that we keep a close watch on the weather and air quality and will relocate to the studio if it will be too hot or poor air.

Students will have a fun exploring the mediums while they improve their hand-eye coordination, problem solving skills, and confidence in their mark-making. Each session provides new projects and different approaches to mediums so that students can continue classes throughout the year and build on exploring, techniques, foundations, and terminology.

This session students will explore four different types of medium. Each project will take two class periods to complete, and we will be focusing on terminology and technique as well as a little bit of art history. Students will have a blast exploring the mediums while they improve their hand-eye coordination, problem solving skills, and confidence in their mark-making. Our 6:1 student:teacher ratio provides an incredible opportunity for students to maximize individual attention within a small group setting. Each of our 4 school year sessions provide new and different projects to allow students to continue learning and building on their foundations of creating.

New Teen students will complete three pre-designed projects with their teacher's guidance to help aid them in learning how to set-up/clean-up supplies and materials, get a feel for what mediums are available, and allow teachers to get a feel for the student's level of skill and art knowledge before diving into more independent study. With our small class sizes, students have maximum individual attention within a classroom setting. Students will improve technical ability, problem-solving skills, and compositional understanding, as well as learn how to develop their own original projects with the guidance of their teachers. Students can choose the mediums they wish to explore and further develop a richer understanding. Available mediums include and are not limited to acrylic, watercolor, charcoal, pastel, ink, ceramics, mixed media, printmaking, and silkscreen.

Two hours of art making and birthday celebrating fun at Rebel Art School! Forget about the mess at home, and let Rebel Art take care of the entertainment, organizing, and clean-up. Our Rebel Art teacher will demonstrate, discuss, and inspire an exciting art project and invite each guest to create their own original and unique artwork that they will take home. Hosting families are welcome to bring any food/dessert/beverages they wish. The studio will be decorated for a birthday party and will include a food table with table cloth, paper plates & napkins. We will have a break mid-way through the party to allow for any drying or supply transition time to have snacks/lunch, but wait for the end to sing happy birthday and celebrate with dessert. Due to time and drying constraints we only offer 2D art mediums such as acrylic paint, watercolor, drawing, printmaking, collage, and mixed media. If your birthday child has a preference in the mediums please let us know in the following questions, and our skilled instructors will create a fun age appropriate project for the party. The $475 base fee covers up to 8 artists (including the birthday child), there is an option for up to 4 additional guests at $30/each for a maximum number of 12 art guests. Please note that this is a drop-off party, we ask that only the hosting parents stay, and all other parents drop-off. There is a $100 non-refundable booking fee included in the registration.
