Winter Semester (January-Mid March) This class is for students ages 12-16 who love to create things with their hands. Students are guided to build and sculpt using different clay techniques with a focus on polymer clay. While exploring the clay medium, students develop skills needed to create three dimensional forms like animals, food, and more. This class can be registered by invitation only.

Students will explore glass cutting and uses of the types of materials available. Through the step by step guidance by fused glass experts Marty and Brittney. This dad and daughter team helps students will learn to make a variety of different glass pieces. There will be opportunity for many creative choices as students are given tips and techniques that will provide the knowledge needed to make some exciting pieces. All supplies provided as students explore techniques, learn basics of color theory, and try different mediums used to draw and paint. Students are introduced to the elements and principles of art to create full, functional, and stylish compositions. This class will explore the different mediums used in drawing such as charcoal, graphite, colored pencil, and pastel along with painting in oil, acrylic, gouache and watercolor. This is a beginning class that allows students to test a variety of materials in order to find which medium to continue learning about and then join one of our more in depth classes on that medium. Winter Semester (January-Mid December) Designed for adults that require some adaptive conditions to create their art. ages 18 and older, For those with special needs but are higher functioning. Adaptive Art is a field that focuses primarily on the students' access to art making despite personal challenges. Art can foster self expression build self-esteem, group participation, self-control and individuality. Students learn to explore a variety of different art materials and styles and are encouraged to trust their own decision-making skills through the guidance of a professional artist. Facilities are wheelchair accessible. Supplies are provided with a $45 fee that will include personal brushes, drawing pencil set and portfolio binder. Please call to see if this is a good fit.

This class provides the perfect opportunity for adult artists with a basic understanding of drawing and color mixing to work in a supportive and creative atmosphere on works of their choosing. Individualized and informative instruction will help students develop new skills, gain insights into their creative accomplishments, receive meaningful guidance and feedback, become comfortable with the creative process, and grow at every level.
