This class is for students with previous ballet training and solid technique. The intermediate dancer can process more complicated sequences, can execute barre exercises with greater speed and accuracy and is expected to coordinate arm and leg movements smoothly. This is designed for dancers with at least 1-2 years of previous ballet instruction. NO CLASSES OR REHEARSALS: Saturday, March 15th through Saturday, March 22nd

Jazz 2 will focus on learning proper dance techniques such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Students will be exposed to various styles of jazz such as Broadway, Street and Contemporary to help develop a well rounded dancer. This is a Junior/Senior PPC Level class and designed for students that have taken at least one year of jazz and/or ballet instruction. Beginning teens that are interested in learning jazz dance are welcome to attend. NO CLASSES OR REHEARSALS: Saturday, March 15th through Saturday, March 22nd This class will perform in the Poppy Fest the weekend of April 25th-April 27th. Exact date and time TBA.

The focus is on monologue work using contemporary texts from theater, television and film. Core components of the class include the idea of simply working from yourself, “action-based acting” (how one person is trying to change/affect another person in a scene), and how to read a monologue to figure out what your character might want from that situation. We’ve designed the class around very tangible and concrete ideas and techniques, so that those who might be intimidated by the idea of an acting class, or an arts class in general, will feel exceedingly comfortable. It is important to note that while the class is intentionally designed to be as un-intimidating and accessible as possible, students may be asked to work on memorization outside of class. This class is designed for teens and young with previous theatre experience, who want to continue to build on skills they have learned within our other Adaptive theatre classes. New students will be accepted into this class only with prior director approval to assure that the needs of the student will be met in the best possible environment. We will dive into comedic timing, vocal inflection, character development and motivation, facial expression, body language AS a language, as well as collaborative team building exercises and improvisation. Students may be involved in the design and development of creating their own costumes and painting the set/backdrop for a performance of the one-act play at the end of the semester. *Some financial assistance may be available and we do accept/work with outside funding sources.* FINAL PRESENTATION: FRIDAY, APRIL 11TH (TIME TBD) NO CLASSES: Tuesday, March 18th

This is an excellent way to introduce theatre and dramatic arts to our young performers. No previous experience is required. By choosing familiar stories and songs, students are encouraged to grow and develop using their imagination. Children will explore their creativity through imaginative play and ensemble games. This class is designed for performers that are currently involved in Musical Theatre. It will focus on fundamental skills for young adults. Topics to be covered include: fundamentals of acting applied to musical theatre, character analysis, how to personalize your performance, various acting styles in musical theatre, and practical steps to a career. This beginning level class is designed to develop awareness of alignment and basic ballet vocabulary and technique. This class will focus on ballet terminology and technique through the execution of barre work, center, and across the floor exercises. Topics to be covered include: developing strength in the belt, mix and head voices; healthy singing habits; music reading and sight-singing; and portraying character through song. The class will primarily focus on ensemble singing with solo work interspersed throughout the group songs. This is a PPC Junior / Level 2 vocal class.
