What follows is a hilarious and unexpected string of events that challenges Frankie’s ideas of belonging and perfection. ABOUT THE SHOW: Join us this summer as dancers (grades 8-12) are immersed in a variety of dance styles and techniques. Prerequisite for this camp: one year of dance intensive camp previously AND/OR 3+ years of dance training. After a healthy warm-up, students will be drilled in ballet and jazz technique and in the afternoons will explore modern, lyrical, and tap dance. Students will also be introduced to the histories of each style, and through a series of exercises, be encouraged to connect how one style influences another. This is a true intensive combining dance history, choreographic styles, anatomy, and injury prevention. Led by the Palace's Jesee Smart (2017, 2019 Broadway World Austin Choreographer of the Year, Winner Broadway World Austin Dancer of the Decade) this camp is perfect for the experienced dancer looking to improve not only their technique but flexibility, stamina, strength, and performance quality. Approximate show length: 45-60 minutes
