The joy of drawing cartoons provides a vehicle for also learning drawing basics. This is a digital drawing class. This class is designed for kindergarten through 2nd grade aged children to help them learn and develop fine motor skills through creating art! Your child will practice using scissors, holding a pencil and paint brush, and much more through drawing, painting, and sculpting. Students produce a variety of projects with various mediums and subjects in order to learn different techniques and skills in creating art. Classes are limited in sizes so sign your child up today!

Class is taught using the program Procreate for Apple iPad, which is strongly recommended. (Not the "Pocket" version) Other programs may suffice, but we cannot promise a 1:1 comparison of lessons for any other programs used. Experience in procreate preferred but not required. We will study what makes a cartoon "anime," different methods, techniques, and all the formal elements you need to create your own anime art and characters. This class is a fusion of traditional art projects and social team-building games; we will be learning how to draw and sketch quickly as we act out characters in a narrative, while also creating maps, portraits, and inventory sheets to fully design and flesh out a character of our own. This class will help you learn how to build worlds, create characters, and work with others on a personal and group basis. Perspective can make or break an art piece! Come learn some tips and tricks on creating perspective with Art House artist and instructor Brittney Brown. This workshop runs for 3 weeks from 10am-12pm on Wednesdays starting January 15. Each week we will focus on a different kind of perspective starting with one point, then two point, and finish with multiple perspectives in one drawing. We will be working in graphite pencil which is the easiest medium to practice and learn perspective, though once you learn how you can apply your new understanding of perspective to any art piece and medium! This pass is for Winter 2025 Jan 6-Mar 15th .This studio time is meant for an artist the opportunity to focus on their art and take a number of classes. By buying the pass you can attend as many adult classes as you desire (except the glass class which has to be purchased separately). You can attend during that semester as long as there is still room. You must choose which classes so that you spot is assured and if you miss a class three times your spot will be lost in that class. This does not include workshops or supplies.

Winter Semester (January-Mid March) Designed for adults that require some adaptive conditions to create their art. Ages 18 and older, for those with special needs but are higher functioning. Adaptive Art is a field that focuses primarily on the students' access to art making despite personal challenges. Art can foster self expression build self-esteem, group participation, self-control and individuality. Students learn to explore a variety of different art materials and styles and are encouraged to trust their own decision-making skills through the guidance of a professional artist.
