Gouache is an awesome but lesser known medium that it can be used like watercolor paint, so the techniques learned can be done with either mediums. Spring Semester (Mid March-May) This fun class is for students who have taken cartooning and animation and are ready to build on a foundation of a variety of art skills. The joy of drawing cartoons provides a vehicle for also learning drawing basics. This is a digital drawing class. This is an ongoing course that provides new projects each week to challenge and guide your child's artistic abilities. Each student receives individual attention to emphasis their natural strengths and help in areas they need to improve. Classes are limited in size, so sign your child up today!

Spring Semester (Mid March-May) This class is recommended for ages 10+ who have a basic knowledge of drawing and anime. Digital Art Supplies REQUIRED. iPad with Apple Pencil preferred. Class is taught using the program Procreate for Apple iPad, which is strongly recommended. (Not the "Pocket" version) Other programs may suffice, but we cannot promise a 1:1 comparison of lessons for any other programs used. Experience in procreate preferred but not required. We will study what makes a cartoon "anime," different methods, techniques, and all the formal elements you need to create your own anime art and characters. This class is a fusion of traditional art projects and social team-building games; we will be learning how to draw and sketch quickly as we act out characters in a narrative, while also creating maps, portraits, and inventory sheets to fully design and flesh out a character of our own. This class will help you learn how to build worlds, create characters, and work with others on a personal and group basis.
