Elderly Care in Hillcrest

| I am 33 years old I live in Hillcrest and currently work at hilda Ross Retirement Village in hamilton I have been there for 1 year prior to this I was doing support work for the elderly around Hamilton and the waikato. I have had experience in personal cares to house work running errands and and medication dispensing. I am honest reliable and very caring I love having a chat with the residents at my work they make your day a bit brighter. | I have my own experience by careing my parents for 3 #####.#### were above 85 year old. I did cleaning, physio exercises, cook and feeding, spending time with them, shaving, hair cutting and other all activities.

| I’ve volunteered at retirement homes since I was young as my mom has been a clinical nurse manager for retirement homes my entire life, Over the summer I worked as a casual Elderly support worker at Tainui Resthome I learned how to support encourage and care for elderly people with different disabilities including zero mobility, amputees and dementia as well as general support for patients that are mostly mobile. I assisted with shower, feedings and serving meals, assisting with some physio recommended exercises, and just hanging out with the residents,

| The main reason that motivates me to consider a career in caregiving is the personal life experiences I had as an elder caregiver. I was inspired by many elderly people in my own family who I have had many hands-on, personal care and valuable experiences in activities such as, providing personal hygiene(Dressing, bathing, grooming, feeding and toileting), Assisted them with activities of daily living and provided fun companionship, helped in transferring and lifting them, prepare and serve meals, perform housekeeping and laundry duties etc. I would like to take this opportunity to submit my application for the post of caregiver, Having above 2 years of NZ experience, my main focus was to make a difference in the lives of clients and their families. Furthermore to create a relationship with each other client and experience a sense of accomplishment that comes with knowing and fully understand that I have enhanced their quality of life.

| I have obtained Diploma in Healthcare Studies (Level 5) in New Zealand and has been working as healthcare Assistant in private rest home in Auckland for 3 years. I also worked as home care support for 5 months to support and assist the clients for their activities daily living such as showering, toileting and dressing.
