| Since the age of 15 I have been a coach and support carer to Special Olympics Eastbourne, volunteering with a variety of ages and special needs. My uncle has down syndrome and autism so I have grown up around people with special needs. I find this work so rewarding and love to see the things people achieve. I also have experience volunteering for SasBah which is an evening group for all ages and special needs to take part in different activities such as puzzles, games, cake decorating, films etc. I want to make a change in someone’s life and give them opportunities they wouldn’t normally be able to do and take them to do things they’ve never done before!

| My son who is now an adult with High functioning autism lives in Hastings with a support worker because he wanted to live independently and go to college there. He is thriving and I am happy for him. He is 19 years of age. My daughter 13 has ADHD and is also living in Bexhill with a support worker. But having experience with both sides of the coin and also having high functioning autism myself has given me the courage to go forwards and sign up for the NCFE level 3 Diploma Specialist Support of teaching and learning in schools, this too have inspired me to look for work experience in specialist support work with children. | I have done a level 3 national diploma in child care when I was at college which I did a lot of work experience and one of the placements I went to which was called downsview special needs school I worked with a lot of children with different abilities and needs. I have almost work at love in either residential homes or nursery homes which I have worked with alot of different needs and abilities their also. I also love to work as a team and I really enjoy learning some new.
