My name is Hannah and I am from Nashville, Tennessee. After finishing a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Belmont University, I moved to the UK in 2017 to pursue a Msc History from the University of Edinburgh. After graduating in 2018, I substitute taught in a Catholic high school in Chicago, Illinois before moving back to the UK in 2019 to pursue a PGDE Secondary School, History degree and a Catholic Teacher Certificate from the University of Glasgow. I am currently living in Edinburgh with my Irish husband who just completed his PhD in Nuclear Physics from the University of Edinburgh. I have experience teaching/tutoring students ages 11-18 as well as ESL learners. During the PGDE, I taught first-third year students modules in History and Modern Studies and also worked with students on their Nat 4/5 exams and Higher History modules. I have experience teaching Scottish history, particularly the Scottish Wars of Independence, European history, including the Black Death and British Suffragists/Suffragettes, Irish history, particularly the Irish Civil War and the Troubles in Northern Ireland, and American history, including the American Civil War.
