Through my personal centered approach
|
Through my 10 years of working in healthcare I have gained experience of working in the following settings care homes, residential homes, nursing homes, respite centres and home care and worked with individuals that may have complex care, be elderly, be considered to have mental health, be a young person, child or infant, have seizures, behaviour that challenges, a learning disability or other health conditions such as diabetes, muscular dystrophy, mytonic dystrophy, have a peg, catheter, Tracheotomy or stoma bag.
Establishing a broad range of skills with my career of care has equit me with essential skills. However I believe this has not made me great at my role. Having a person centered approach has shaped me into a carer that will respect my client, maintain their dignity and treat them with compassion.
While I am not working I like to spend time with my family, my pets and going out to the beach and forest. I love my garden and being outside, however all this running about does get tiring and I often enjoy sitting down with a good book and cup of tea.
