I am a caring and empathetic person
| My qualification is a BEd (Hons) degree. I have worked as a Teacher in an SEN school for the past 24 years, teaching ages from 4-19 years with ASD, SLD, MLD, SEMH, PMLD and Challenging Behaviours. I currently work 3 days a week (Wednesday,Thursday,Friday) with ages 6-8 years. Throughout the years of experience, I have developed the skills to be a diverse, dynamic, versatile and resilient teacher. My skill set include an holistic and therapeutic approach to learning. I believe that at the core of each child’s learning is that of wellbeing, happiness, independence and life skills. This is in order for the child to achieve their best potential. It is paramount to allow them to learn strategies of self regulation and to support in making valuable choices. In addition to this, I have worked alongside other professionals, such as speech and language and Occupational Therapists. I have experience, skills and knowledge of Makaton, total communication, PECs, intensive interaction, mindfulness and Tacpac, all of which I implement into my daily timetable. During my career I have also offered respite to families of children from the school in which I work.
