| I will be a qualified Speech and Language Therapist from July 2025 and will be relocating to Dundee in June. I have a strong background in providing care for individuals with special needs, particularly children with autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties. During my placements, I’ve worked in both community paediatric settings and hospital environments, providing therapy and support to children and adults with a range of speech, language, and swallowing disorders. I’ve used evidence-based strategies, such as Makaton and visual aids, to enhance communication for individuals with diverse needs, ensuring they feel heard and understood. As a support worker for a child with ASD, I assisted with communication, daily activities, and occupational therapy sessions, implementing strategies to enhance social interaction and wellbeing.

| I have worked as a pupil support assistant (PSA) since September 2020. Through this job I have been working at an additional support needs school. I have mainly worked with children from 5-12 on the autism spectrum. I am used to handling changing, spitting, bitting, scratching etc. I know some simple makaton to aide communication. I and a 4th year psychology student at Dundee university and hope to do a postgrad in educational psychology.
