Special Needs Care in Croydon

My name is Nikki, I have three children aged 11,15 & 18. 2 of my children have disabilities. One has aspergers and the other has PDDNOS, ADHD, ODD, dyslexia & food intolerances, he also had very delayed speech & his own language which made it very difficult to communicate with others. Both my children with disabilities had very challenging behaviour & we're very physically challenging but through years of hard work by them and I these behaviours are now fully gone & they require much less input. This now allows me to make time to work. I myself have epilepsy which is controlled and has been for many years so I have a very good understanding of its effects, I have also worked in several care homes up to management level supporting adults with learning disabilities, challenging behaviour & epilepsy. Whilst my experience with children with disabilities is mainly through supporting my own children I believe it's far more detailed experience than you could ever learn from books. I hope you see it as the same as I do! I'm a driver with a clean licence. I have no criminal convictions. I am currently working various hours as a house keeper so I'm fully able to support a family that needs shopping, organising, cleaning and cooking.

| I have worked in the health and social care sector for more than 20 years and have gained vast experience dealing with people who have special needs, in the community, residential as well as in institutional settings. My view is that my clients' needs are all very individual and specific to that person. I therefore endeavour to provide a service tailored to their needs, employing the person-centred approach. I am educated to degree level and fluent in English, a confident lone worker but are just as efficient, working in a team. I hold a British driving licence as well as a DBS.
