Special needs therapy:
I help people improve their quality of life and become more independent. Some common goals of special needs therapy include:
Occupational therapy: Helps people develop skills for daily living, such as dressing, eating, and using the bathroom. Occupational therapists also help with fine motor skills, such as writing and cutting with scissors, and gross motor skills, such as walking and climbing stairs.
Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA): Helps people increase helpful behaviours and decrease harmful behaviours.
Speech and language therapy: Helps people understand their communication profile and how to support their individual strengths and differences.
As a counsellor:
I offer person or client-centred therapy based on the view that everyone has the capacity and desire for personal growth and change, given the right conditions.
I offer unconditional positive regard, empathy and congruence to help you come to terms with any negative feelings and to change and develop in your own way.
An integrative approach aims to build a trusting and non-judgmental relationship that helps develop self-awareness.
