I have been trained in lots of different areas such as; Safeguarding (March 2015, 2016 and 2017), Management of actual or potential aggression - MAPA (November 2015, refreshed March 2017), Moving people (December 2015), Specific feeding and choking management (January 2016) and Basic life support (March 2016). Medication administration (November 2016), Gastrostomy feeding (November 2016), First aid (December 2016) Fire Marshall (March 2017) These training events are important and they are furthering my understanding and knowledge of how to meet every child’s individual needs and create the best possible time for them.

We toilet the children ourselves, alongside the designated toileting member of staff that day. Hoisting children when needed and ensuring they are comfortable. I also know basic Makaton so I can communicate with the non-verbal children and their parents.
