I have recently graduated with a first from the Birmingham Conservatoire doing applied theatre (community education). This course has allowed me to pursue my passion for working with young people with special needs, using drama as a powerful creative tool. I have previous experience providing weekend respite care for a young adult with PMLD, being a 1:1 assistant with a young boy at cubs with learning difficulties due to fetal alcoholic syndrome, assisting and running drama workshops both inside and outside special schools. I also worked as a after school carer for a family of 3 young boys from the age of 16, having to pick them up from school, cook them tea and help them with their home work. Currently I am a free lance artist, assisting Open Theatre in their work with young people with special needs. Supporting people with special needs is what I have dedicated my life to. This has all helped me to become a responsible, reliable but also fun person to work with. I grew up with a brother on the autism spectrum, this experience shaped my life. Through the rough and the smooth we have always been there to support each other. Growing up with my brother has had a huge impact on who I am today.
