I am happy to just pop in and give food if they're a bit more independent like mine, but I know my sister's cats miss the company when she's away so I am very happy to spend a little longer with anyone who has separation anxiety while you're away! With dog walking, that is entirely down to you as the owner and how long your pup usually likes to go out for. I am (reasonably!) fit and I am happy to go for longer walks, I am happy to discuss whatever works for you both.
