Experienced pet carer, from dogs to cats
| At home in the Cotswolds, I have a border collie called Roma, and I miss her greatly now I'm at Bristol University. I have experience cat sitting for a friend as well as volunteering at a cat shelter for a year (which involved socialising the cats), but my main expertise is with dogs, which I have had my whole life. I love walking dogs, and I can undertake any animal related task. I'm always up for a challenge!

experienced kitty carer! missing my feline friends whilst a student
| Hello lovely lot! My name is Harriet and i’m 20! I have grown up with cats all my life (at one point we had 10 in the house at once!!) but now that i’m at university I’m missing spending time with some of the greatest animals who have been my friends for so many years! I’ve grown up in Wales, where cats have always been at the centre of our family, and usually the front door as well! I have experience with over 20 different cats, from either as pets or when our family has fostered, and that means a lot of experience! I’m currently living in bristol studying as a children’s nurse, but caring for littles is so different to caring for my kitties and i do miss it! There are a wide variety of food options which I’m happy to come and feed your cat, play time is especially important and making sure your cat is back at home after a long day exploring is just a few things i’m more than happy to do! And of course, I would be keeping you updated with pictures of your loved ones and an update of what they’ve been up to every time i see them! Hope to hear from you soon!

Caring cat-lover living in Stapleton, Bristol
| My family has always had cats so I have grown up looking after many different cats/kittens. My mum's cats are quite old and both are quite ill. I am used to administering oral medication and ensuring the cat feels safe and secure while doing so. As one of her cats suffers badly from anxiety he tends to over-groom and this is a personality I am used to dealing with. I find that human contact is the best way to calm this kind of behaviour. I can administer de-fleeing and de-worming medications orally or directly onto the skin. I have spent several months living in my brother and sister-in-law's house looking after their cats while they have been abroad over the past few years. As such, I am comfortable in another home with new cats and confident in my ability to ensure the safety of the cats or kittens I am looking after. I find the experience of looking after cats rewarding because I have seen first hand the effect an owner's departure can have on a cat. Many cats gets attached to one member of the family and can find it distressing to be without any human contact while that person is absent. I hope that I can be there to comfort any cats/kittens who may feel anxious while their owner is out of the house.

A cat and dog lover for your furry friend while you are away
| I can't have a cat where I am staying at the moment but I always had one before and I am missing one so much. A friend gave me the idea. Taking care of cats when people are away would help them and also feed the need of fur friends I feel in my life now. I am happy to come at your house, feed them, play and stay with them a bit and of course clean their space. I also love dogs as much as I love cats and I used to live with a big and difficult dog. Again, I can't keep them at home but happy to walk/visit them, to feed and play with them.

FAQs for finding a cat sitter in Bristol

In 2024, how much does a cat sitter cost in Bristol?

Hiring a cat sitter in Bristol through Care.com will cost an average of £10.00 per hour as of September 2024. This rate will vary depending on the level of care you need for your cat, the number of cats you have, and the total amount of hours or days your cat sitter will need to come to your home. Some cat sitters will charge a fixed rate per day if full-time care is requested.

How can I find a local cat sitter near me in Bristol?

You can filter and sort local cat sitter profiles by distance from Bristol. Compare your options by reading about their experience, the hourly rate they charge, and reviews from other cat parents. There are currently 2,737 cat sitters in Bristol, although you can expand the radius of your search if you'd like to increase your options.

What questions should I ask a cat sitter in an interview?

The best cat sitters in Bristol have a combination of experience and passion for cat care. Ask questions about the types of pets they have personally owned and how often they are currently cat sitting. Because cats behave differently than dogs, make sure to ask questions that are specific to cat behaviours and tendencies. It's also a good idea to give specific scenarios to the cat sitter you're speaking to so you can have a good idea of how they will treat your cat when they are in your home. Be sure to ask for references from other cat parents in Bristol that have worked with the sitter of your preference.
