| I’m a student in Animal Behaviour and animals have always been a very important part of my life. I always had pets (cats, dogs, hamster and fishes) at home and I also took care of my relatives’ and friends’ cats and dogs (both small and bigger dogs). | I’m a student in Animal Behaviour and animals have always been a very important part of my life. | I do have a real love for animals and believe that they should have the highest level of love and care possible provided, so they can have a happy fulfilled life. Throughout my childhood, I have had a variety of pets including dogs, cats, fish, hamsters, and rabbits. I have also looked after several family friends' pets (dogs, cats, hamsters) whilst they have been away on holiday. I can easily work with big and small dogs, as I have had experience of both (my mother owned an American Bulldog and my Auntie has owned 3 Rottweilers). These experiences, although unpaid, have made me realise that the care that is needed for each animal is different and the needs to be met vary from species but also to the individual. In recent work I have looked after cats in their own home whilst their owners are away for anything from a few nights to weeks on holiday. I have had to administer medication during these visits. In addition to those experiences I have provided care during the day for a young Border Collie including walking, obedience training and play. I attended obedience training with his owner to ensure consistency in his training.
