Elderly Care in Warminster

| I am Julie. I am 57years. I have been working in care since 2018 where I have experience in personal care, housekeeping, meal preparation, medication administration and companionship. Previously to that, since 2007, I have worked with the elderly within their homes on a one to one basis with various conditions including Alzheimer’s and other disabilities. I am a honest, hard working and friendly person. I have worked with clients with severe disabilities, also people suffering from dementia and other conditions. I have my own car.

| I worked in Riverside in Sherborne for a year some time ago so not sure if that counts but it was a good introduction to learning about dementia and alzheimers. Then in 2004 to 2006 I worked as an Arts Facilitator at Greenacres in Trowbridge which was a residential home for the elderly, I loved my time there I went twice a week in the afternoons to do art activities with them. I Think they enjoyed themselves. I would be more than happy to look after an elderly lady or gentleman I always lived far away from my grandparents so whenever the opportunity arose to be with older people I took it. I am an excellent cook so they would be well taken care of.

| At the moment I am a self employed cleaner, I clean people’s home, I have been self employed since September 2017, but I would like to try something new, I have worked in the care industry off & on throughout my working life. I don’t mind doing light duties, but I would love to be a companion & give people their lives back so they can go out & about & enjoying life, or just staying in to have the friendship was someone. I have worked in a residential house for 9 years & I also have been a community carer in my working life. I have a full clean driving licence with my own car, & I have a Clean Basic DBS which I have had done recently. I’m looking to start my new role late September 2024. I’m confident around dogs & cats, I have 2 dogs of my own. My hobbies are: walking, socialising, art I attend (selling) at craft fairs, markets etc at the weekends in seasonal times, January to March it’s a quiet season. I currently care for a lady with ms, a 96 year old gentleman and a lovely lady with disabilities. I have experience caring for People with dimentia, motor neurone disease. Ms and spina bifida. | I am a well presented gentle and compassionate creative Carer/personal assistant with experience in supporting in care home environments as well as home environments. I practice a very client centred approach in supporting people who need personal support and care within the safety and security of their own home. I have gained experience in supporting clients with dementia and Palliative care needs and have worked supporting children and young adults with special educational needs. I am happy to help with light duties around the home to help make the day to day routines continue with a little more ease. I enjoy painting, aromatherapy and gardening (husband is a gardener) and all activities outdoors but equally a great lover of reading. I am on the Dorset, Wiltshire and Somerset boarder. I hold an enhanced DBS and fully insured. I drive and also hold full business insurance. I am able to provide further information with regards to training and references on request.
