I've just been made redundant in July, i was working in a Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in Oxfordshire. Which is to support clients with brain, spine and nerve damage. I was only helping out for 4 weeks because of staff shortage and offered me a seniors position and. I started in June 2021. It was an 11 bed home with a range of different clients. Wheelchair/bed bound. Epilepsy. Long covid. Speach and visual impairment. Stokes. Motor neurone disease. Parkinson's. Challenge behaviours and psychosis. Memory loss. I and the team would do daily rehabilitation excise with clients, supporting their ever need, goals and wishes. We would use different equipment for different needs. Grab rails, hoist, rota stands, frames, wheelchairs walking aids. We would arrange days out of their choice and giving them the best quality of life possible. Cooking, cleaning and laundry with daily personal hygiene, fluid intake, urine and bowel charts. Position charts to prevent pressure sore. Eating disorders and Dysphasia would all be logged and monitored. Some clients would be rehabilitated and go home which was beautiful to see and some sadly ended up being permanent.I love my job and can't see me doing anything eles in life
