A " natural Carer " with a bright and cheerful positive can-do attitude.
| Hi, My name is Donna. I am a 47 year old Mum of 3 grown up fantastic children. Originally from York, I now live in Shipley ( BD18 ) but am willing and able to travel within reason. So, a little about me….I am what I and all those who know me would describe as a “ Natural Carer “. I am a cheerful, positive, kind, very approachable, trustworthy, non-judgemental, hard-working, empathetic, caring person . I have ridiculous amounts of patience and always keep calm in a crisis’ responding quickly should any arise. I believe that delivering good care is not just about tending to one’s physical needs but emotional ones as well and I am passionate about supporting others on a holistic basis. ( where appropriate ). I have worked several diverse, challenging but extremely rewarding support worker roles over the years and am happy working with all sections of society. Having being main carer for 3 very different older relatives over the last 3 decades, my experience lies mainly but not solely in caring for the elderly. Treating all clients with the quality of care I would expect my own loved ones to receive. . Always taking a person centred approach, I feel it is essential to discuss the client's individual needs and preferences in advance with the client and/or any relevant parties in order to ensure all individual needs and preferences are being met right from the start. As these may change over time, any initial care plan will be flexible , reviewed regularly and any changes after discussion with the client be implemented wherever possible . I am happy to provide all aspects of care including preparing meals, household duties, personal care etc. Fully aware of the isolation sometimes experienced as we get older. I am equally happy to provide companionship If you simply want someone who can accompany you while out of the house for things like walks in the park, shopping trips, pursuit of your hobbies and interests, visiting friends etc etc. and a non-judgemental, caring, empathetic and at all times confidential listening ear. Whatever your needs, I can assure you of a professional, thorough, caring and individually tailored service. I have an NVQ II in Health & Social care and can provide an abundance of excellent professional references prior to any position being taken. Finding the right person to ensure the care of your loved one to is a huge and at times daunting task. I am a very approachable person, so please don’t hesitate to contact me should you wish to discuss anything further.
