Reliable Homecare Worker.
|
I am interested in this field because I am passionate about healthcare. I got involved as a carer in 2012, with a male who has paraplegia and in years after that I have experience working with people who has autism and dementia. Different tasks that I have performed in homecare are aiding with leg exercises, bowel movements, companionship, cooking, cleaning, running errands, transfers from wheelchairs to bed and how to safely perform mobility for patients and myself.
In 2017 I started a practical nursing course which I have not yet completed, however so far have gained a certificate on Dementia. At homecare facilities I have knowledge of how to deal with bedsores and how to prevent and decrease possible bedsores. On a daily routine I would aid in feeding the proper foods to multiple patients, change sheets/make beds, perform vital signs such as pulse rate or blood pressure tests, do bathroom duties/ bed baths and keep a record of those duties to pass to a registered nurse at the end of shift. During practical training I have learned the proper way for maintaining healthy hygiene and the importance of infection control.
I am a positive and reliable individual who takes pride in any job to ensure that goals are met.
