Dementia Care Chester

| Hi I’m Kirsty I have worked in several local residential care homes for the elderly, my last two jobs were working specifically with people who have dementia as a care provider and as an activities co-ordinator. I am a very bright energetic person who always try’s to make sure each individuals needs are met for every person in my care. I am hardworking and trustworthy and love working and interacting with elderly people.

| I have experiences with Elderly care preferably those with Dementia, Alzheimers and with special needs. I have also experiences as a Recreational Therapist where I create recreational and leisure activities to a specified group, which can be early people to improve their health and well being.

| 5 days a week, I have been looking after a lovely 90-year-old lady who lives on her own with dementia, I look after her daily needs. I have been with her for 4 years and my job is now coming to an end at she is going to be moving into a nursing home in the next few weeks. I will be available to take on another client who is in need of help with their daily needs.

| Hello! I am a student nurse studying in Chester and have experience working on elderly care wards. I also plan to work in elderly care once qualified. I have a natural ability to communicate effectively with elderly patients, including those with cognitive impairments such as dementia and delirium. I have training in Basic Life Support and Manual Handling and have on-the-job experience of providing personal care, companionship, administering medications, assisting with mobility needs and assisting with catheters/stomas etc. I have a calm, friendly and cheerful personality which works perfectly for caring with older people. I can also use British Sign Language.

| I'm currently a support worker for special needs, but I have plenty of experience which include; supporting adults on a 1:1 basis, supporting adults to be as independent as they can as long as they are safe and happy. Following a person led approach to safeguarding. Promoting independence and empowerment and supporting people to do the things they enjoy on a day to day basis. Supporting adults with dementia who show challenging behaviours including end of life to enable them to be as independent as they can be. Always promoting health and safety, and ensuring the safety of others.

| My experience includes caring for clients with general and mental health needs, Diabetes, Dementia & Parkinson's Disease. I'm based in Wrexham and can offer my services locally and up to a 20 mile radius. My services include welfare checks, personal care, medication compliance, blood pressure monitoring, diabetes care, light housework & meal preparation, pet care, support, companionship, social activities, Anxiety Management and much more!

I like my job as I feel I may need this service myself at some point. It's nice to meet people and chat, as some only have carers in to talk to during the day. I like working with dementia patients as I had a lot of experience with my late mother.

| I have had a rich and varied working life. I have a History degree and I was a special needs teacher for 18 years. In recent years, I have cared for loved ones who have MS and schizophrenia. I also enjoyed working as a foster carer for four years and I found this role very rewarding. As an advocate with the Alzheimer's Society, I received extensive training in dementia care. I have a great understanding of the obstacles that families can face and I worked well as a Carers Wellbeing Officer. As a teacher, I had additional teaching in alternative communication methods, physio exercises and speech/feeding. During the pandemic, I have worked hard as a care worker in people's own homes. and I have completed stroke awareness training. I would like to become self-employed and I am happy to work in areas such as Wrexham, Flintshire, Malpas/West Cheshire. I can assist with such things as personal care, housework, meal preparation, shopping trips and I would be a good companion. I would be happy to assist with planned special events e.g. theatre trips, day trips. I can complete contracts and make risk assessments. I have safe guarding training and I am DBS checked. | Hi, Since leaving college I have consistently worked within elderly healthcare and pride myself on the level of care and companionship I provide.
