| Good day to you! I am a experienced person who cared for a family relative before starting to work in the NHS. I have experience in older persons and mental health issues. My qualifications also include a certificate in supporting employment and awards in Dementia.

| I worked in a care home as a deputy manager. Primarily their needs were leaning disabilities and challenging behaviour but the majority were elderly with varying health issues such as the onset of dementia. Apart of my role here was meal preparation, mobility and personal care, safe administering of medications, assisting to appointment and personal shopping.

| I am an experienced and caring person willing to turn my hand to anything. I’ve had lots of experience with my own disabled mum in her 80’s. I have looked after a 95 year old lady who is a delight. but does have memory and mobility problems. I also looked after a lady who has dementia. I can provide references etc.

| I have cared for service users with various health conditions. My experience is in managing peg feeding pumps, managing pain, suction machines , taking blood sugar levels , and recordings for a diabetic patient, diet management, food and fluid charts respiratory equipment , managing neurological conditions such as Parkinsons with use of the duo dopa pump. I also have experience of working with individuals who have epilepsy , brain injury ,stomach bags,catheter bags and bowel movement Intervention. I have also cared for service users with conditions such as dementia, Alzheimer, cancer, stroke , motor neuron disease, spinal bifida and multiple sclerosis. I received training from an Occupational Therapist , for exercises for a service users stroke recovery , in order to improve the service users mobility .The goal for that particular service user was to walk again. Goal setting for service users is important as it allows , them to be motivated and attain purpose . I feel this helps the service user to maintain hope and independence in order to attain a better quality of life .

I am certified to administer medication and additionally I have had training/certifications in the following areas: moving & handling, safeguarding, CPR, first aid, dementia awareness, end of life care, diabetes awareness, etc. I am also food safety certified and nutritionally aware.
